Denver and New Orleans will converge two mile high in the San Juan Mountains
of Colorado, at the end of a box canyon with a flowing cascade overlooking
historic Telluride. jazz89KUVO and WWOZ are combining engineers and will
broadcast and stream portions of the annual Telluride Jazz Festival live for
the very first time. The music begins early Friday afternoon and concludes
late Sunday evening. At night the old west town is alive with concerts and
jam sessions including performances at an authentic Western opera house that
is over 100 years old. The canyaon resonates with the diverse sounds of
jazz. The final details and release forms are being formulated right up
until moments before the first downbeat, many have already agreed. Here are
the possibilities. You can visit the fest's home page
http://telluridejazz.org/index.htm for the and artist details. You can also
visit either www.kuvo.org or www.wwoz.org to see our broadcast and streaming
schedules. Both OZ and jazz89 will have side-by-side booths manned by
station personnel at the festival grounds. Mitchell Feldman of MFA
Promotions and Blaise Lantana of KJZZ will be there as well.
Upon our return from Telluride next week, jazz89 preps for its 22
Anniversary Party(8-29) with 2 live in-Oasis Studio concerts, each with
nationally known names.
