*Bright Moments *is a two-hour program of adventurous jazz, focusing
primarily on artists outside the mainstream deserving wider recognition in
the world of creative improvised and composed music, the avant-garde, the
"New Thing" as it was called in the1960s and musicians exploring the
intersection between jazz and world music.  There are also occasional forays
into non-idiomatic improvisation.  The show takes its name from the late
multi-instrumentalist Rahsaan Roland Kirk and always begins with a selection
by Kirk.  "Why say 'hello' when you can say 'Bright Moments'?"
